A Game-Changing Alzheimer’s Drug?

A new and experimental drug suggests it may be possible to clear the brain of the toxic plaques in the brains of patients with early-stage Alzheimer’s disease.  While the study was too small for researchers to declare victory against the disease, it is some of the best news in decades.

The next step is larger trials, which have already begun with 2,700 participants in North America, Europe, and Japan.  If these trials are successful, an application to the Food and Drug Administration to sell the drug in the U.S. will follow.
